Open Question: Appalled at 'Remember Me' Reviews!?
So, I just saw Remember Me and I am awed by Robert Pattinson's debut into the 'after Twilight' movies. What I'm disgusted at are the load of negative reviews Remember Me is getting, which are in no way deserved. The 3 main points: 1. Bad acting 2. Bad script 3. 'Offensive ending' Firstly, the acting was gut wrenching, raw and believable. It made you feel for the characters and this script is in no way cliche. It explored such deep themes and explored the meaning of life and such. Right now, my main concern is that this movie's reviews are a complete injustice and disgracing a perfect movie and it's cast and crew when it deserves praise and awards, not snarky and 'trying to list reasons why it's so bad' reviews. I feel so awful and disgusted with the film industry for labelling it a forgettable movie with an offensive ending when it is anything but. I feel bad for everyone who put their heart and soul into this movie only to wake up in the morning and have it belligerently slashed at. I feel the reviewers are amazed at Pattinson's performance and don't know what to do with it so resort to and write it off as an attempt at breaking out of the teen franchise mould and not succeeding. People can't accept the Edward Cullen is for more then sparkling and playing a vampire and people can't accept that theres a reason Robert Pattinson does have amazing acting ability and a reason to be Hollywood's Megastar at the moment. The most blasphemous point in the reviews would have to be calling the ending offensive and written in to shock everyone and disgracing a tragic event by using it cheaply. It was a bittersweet ending with the tragic event shocking us every just like the real 9/11 did in 2001. It was glossed over because it was the ending and it tied every loose ends together and making the meaning every that more powerful. Eg. Tyler's death wasn't so much a tragedy as he had achieved what most people never do- living his life to the fullest. The tragic ending just emphasizes on what life's meaning is and the reason we wake up everyday. It was a tug on your heartstrings movie and reviewers have tainted and slashed at it and are ruining the experience for everyone. And this isn't just about this movie but Film Critics as a whole who sit there spouting words of nonsense bitterly about every the great movies and giving 5 stars to movies packed with CGI. Sure, there's cinematography talent but no real acting. I'm enraged that critics have so much say and impact when they are biased and don't know what they're talking about at every. So, I pledge that anyone who agrees with me should talk and we should start a petition to battle off the ridiculous reviews. These reviews are crass and untrue and will be heartbreaking for Robert Pattinson and Will Fetters especially. This petition could really open up peoples eyes that reviews are truly worthless and viewers or fans' opinions are what matter. We can take a stand against an injustice and snooze well at night because we know we're fighting for something that matters. It's not impossible and one signature helps- refer to the fans' petition being able to persuade Summit Entertainment to keep Taylor Lautner on board. I'm not biased and I know I'm right and as proof- on every forum or review enraged people are commenting of this injustice, including people who aren't crazy about Robert Pattinson so it just goes to show that it isn't a bunch of Twihards who are defending Robert but a wide range of lovers and haters of Twilight. Comment.

Open Question: What fish in my grocery store are sustainable, good choices?
I had a recent altercation at the fish counter (a man yelled at me for my purchase of chilean sea bass, but that is another story). I do not know much about purchasing fish, and am trying to educate myself. I looked at the seafood watch online, and found it confusing. To me, it seemed that some of the fish "to avoid", are also listed as "good alternatives". For example, on the culinary alternative chart, it says to avoid cod, Atlantic, but also lists it as a good alternative... am I missing something? I don't want to contribute to an industry that is doing irreparable damage. At the same time, it seems that most species of fish available to me at the store are on the avoid list.It doesn't seem logical that 90% of what I look are overfished, or caught using unsafe practices. I am trying to expand my culinary tastes and like more seafood, and really like chilean sea bass- what is my sustainable alternative? I guess there are two issues in my question, just looking for some insight! These answers bring up a whole other debate about where the farmed fish in fact arrive from... Thanks for the answers! Yet another example of ignorance is bliss?

Open Question: China and U.S. Did I get this right? Is China trying to collapse the U.S. economy?
After reading the following article, http://www.wesh.com/news/22794761/detail.html I came to this conclusion: China, who is the largest producer of greenhouse gas is pointing the finger away from themselves and pointing to us as the major problem. They want us to do more with a economic slump, when they haven't lived up to their possess plans. Then they want the U.S. to borrow more money from them to put in a fund for developing countries. That would make the U.S. a slave to them financially, even more then we already are. Are they purposely trying to collapse the U.S. economy? I also think that it's easier to prevent mistakes then to correct them after they happen. Why not just require everybody to build clean energy plants/industry. To allow developing ones to build dirty, is just kicking the pollution ball down the road. What do you think?

Open Question: Beyonce is disgusting, the absolute worst/ most dangerous role model in the industry.?
just watch her new video and you'll understand. i would never want my daughters to watch such filth. why is this even acceptable?! @ kat: have you seen the state of our sex education curriculum, my daughter complains that every she gets taught is sex education. and im sure you also know that the rate of teenage pregnancy in the UK is the worst in the whole of Europe. now i dont know about you but i am going to presume there is some correlation in both fields. your argument simply reaps ignorance. and fyi, my daughter is very responsible and she does respect me. if you want respect from your child you have to set reasonable boundaries, not let them do whatever they want. @ miley: i know shes a grown lady and with any other grown lady i probably wouldnt bother. the only reason im bothering with beyonce is because she had so much influence on our kids. i dont want our future generation to accept such crudity. and i also resent the fact that you are criticising my parenting skills. many parents neglect their responsibilty of RAISING THEIR kids and justify it by saying they are 'giving their kids freedom'. by every means give them freedom, but you can give them freedom and also give them some self respect and a moral outlook on life.

Open Question: Why do people think World War 3 can happen when it NEVER will?
I'll let you every into a bit of info - WW3 will NEVER happen. Too many countries trade with each other; the UN has banned many outdated acts of warfare, aerial bombardment is now ILLEGAL below laws of war etc So receive that into your heads *cough Americans *cough* WW3 will NEVER EVER happen; WW2 was the last world war and every acts of warfare used then are now BANNED! Plus nukes are on their way to being banned too. Warfare has moved on; aerial bombardment will NEVER be used on the USA, Europe or any other Western Nation. Plus NATO, the EU and the UN were every set up to cease another world war from happening. Also countries like the US and the UK have fantastic air defense so there is no way foe planes will be able to receive into US/UK airspace. The UK, USA etc also have a powerful navy so there is no way enemies ships could even look at US waters without being spotted. Invading another country (like Hitler did) is now illegal and if an invasion did happen the EU and the UN would receive involved to cease a war from breaking out. Pearl Harbor will never be attacked again. When British cities were aerial bombed in WW2 (the Blitz); yeah that will NEVER happen again either. Plus China, Russia and Iran are becoming more and more Westernised so why battle and kill if we every beat to the same drum? And last but not least the USA (along with other countries) have nukes; that 100% makes sure that another nation will NEVER attack them; nukes are for protection. During WW2 many cities were carpet bombed by day and night; that will NEVER happen again; the days of carpet bombing are long gone; humans have evolved since then; we can now sit down and talk without flying over and droping bombs. So there you have it; 100% evidence that WW3 will NEVER happen; so cease asking the questions and go out and receive stoned/receive laid. PS - Carpet bombing is banned; there is no way to destroy the foe's industry hence no war! There will be no such thing as a world war 3; that is a belief based on your fear. There will NEVER be another war like WW2 ever again. The world is way to joined together and empires are a thing of the past. So PLEASE cease worrying!

Open Question: Career Decision - Creative Arts?
My two dominating passions are social advocacy and filmmaking. Ideally, I'd like my films to reflect my passion for human rights and interest in compelling storytelling. I'm graduating from high school this year and will need to make the decision: A) Jump into a hands on production based film program (likely to be 1-2 yrs in length). or B) Go to a formal university for a traditional four year bachelors degree - in which I would combine film studies/production with another discipline such as sociology or political science. I know that the second option will make me a better 'thinker' since it will push me to add depth to my work and think about purpose and theory. However, the university film program prepares students to enter 'the independant film scene' whereas the shorter film schools prepare students for the actual film industry. The bottom line is I don't want to waste any time. But I also don't want to look back and feel that I've deprived myself of nessesary education. Anyone experienced in a related field who would be able to help me out? Advice in general?

Open Question: would like stata code for the following?
would like stata code for the following I calculate the highest 24-month concentration of merger bids involving firms in that industry in each decade.2 This 24-month period is identified as a potential wave. Taking the total number of bids over the entire decade for a given industry, I simulate 1000 distributions of that number of occurrences of industry member involvement in a bid over a 120-month period by randomly assigning each occurrence to a month where the probability of assignment is 1/120 for each month. I then calculate the highest 24-month concentration of activity from each of the 1000 draws. Finally, I compare the actual concentration of activity from the potential wave to the empirical distribution of 1000 peak 24-month concentrations. If the actual peak concentration exceeds the 95th percentile from that empirical distribution, that period is coded as a wave.

Open Question: How long should bruising last after filler injection below eye?
I am 21-year old model, and chose to have filler injections to receive rid of noticeable tear-trough lines. Yes, I am young, but the fashion industry will eat its possess. It's been about 19-days since I've had the injection (Hyaluronic Acid), yet I have two uneven lines below each eye (the left is slightly longer and more noticeable). I went to back to the clinic a week or so after the procedure to have this examined, and the Dr. believed it was bruising. However, it seems there is more of a tiny depression than any discoloring. There is no pain, but there does seem to be some puffiness over where the fillers were placed, which I think are causing these depressions. Is this common after the procedure? Does this sort of bruising (swelling?) occur? How long should I wait before returning to the clinic? I've heard it takes one month for everything to settle, but haven't seen these kinds of depressions in any pictures of patients who've had similar filler injections.

Open Question: Music Downloading Site?
I'm an aspiring director so I understand why artists and the film industry make a big issue out of downloading illegally. So, I want to join a music site that involves payment of some nice but also is safe. I don't feel like bringing my new touch screen computer to the store anytime soon. So yea, any suggestions? Also, just because I'm willing to pay doesn't mean I want to pay an arm and a leg like on I-tunes (Seriously, a buck a tune?). I rather give up some money upfront and cover me for atleast a few months. So, I need a safe and cheap downloading site please. If it's possible give me an estimate of the costs.

Open Question: WHERE IS JUSTICE ON EARTH?
In the Foreign News of one national daily dated 03-12-10, the author Winston Kayanan from the Philippines found UN’s news item, entitled: “World’s top scientists to review UN climate panel,” wrong. According to IPCC seat Rajendra Pachauri, he & other climate scientists had done a “lousy job” of communicating what is known & not known about the behavior of earth’s climate and that they had not responded adequately to critics of their work. As such, UN will finance a review group to be led by Robbert Dijkgraaf, a co-seat of the InterAcademy Council. In this vein, it would appear that UN will give IPCC a graceful leave when review of the work done was only recommended instead of citing them of violation of corporate codes & policies (going towards legal action). Please be informed that the 3,000-page study does not have a cure. It is only a recital of symptoms to justify the diagnosis of rising temperature and to conclude carbon emission reduction as cure, blaming world’s transportation & industries as alleged principal cause of global warming & climate change. When it truth, UN wanted to hide their major failures on agriculture & forestry (FAO) from famine, health (WHO) from epidemic and meteorology (WMO) from depletion of O3 layer. What IPCC concealed in their study is the inadequacy of oxygen (O2) since earth is reproducing less from photosynthesis due to dwindling inventory of plants & trees worldwide. Looking at it, this is a criminal negligence & imprudence at the expense of peoples’ lives and properties. It is also a crime of aggravating circumstance with evident premeditation where this Nobel Prize Winner IPCC seat had abused his office, taking advantage of public position to secure commission of felony in pushing UNEP’s & UNFCCC’s mission of carbon emission reduction as well as his possess personal interests. Based on the foregoing, the Secretary General should also be held responsible & liable for these crimes because he should have brought the arguments of critics (like the author since 2006) for consideration as sense of duty for a clean, honest & transparent administration before the Copenhagen conference had begun last December 2009. Instead, he defended these agencies and clung to his determination in pushing an invalid treaty or accord based on untrue science, originally made by UNEP with UNFCCC & IPCC as accomplices. In a matter of life and death in times of recurrent natural disasters, the Secretary General should have been more prudent for he already committed contempt of public trust in facilitating the approval of climate deal. Engaging in long deliberations in conferences, unknowingly having untrue reports, were insults to unsuspecting nations while earth had its fill of disasters like in the Philippines, Haiti, Chile & other parts of the world. Aren’t nations being fooled & deceived and people being used as experiments? It was good that there were some critics who were able to scrutinize the work done by IPCC which fortified the author’s allegations of UN rendering untrue sciences. If UN continues in protecting its possess image like this, there will be no wish for better & freer life. God had answered in 2001 with a solution brought to UN in December 2002. That solution is surprisingly mentioned in the Bible, specifically in Daniel’s Prophecy of 70 weeks, described as “squares & walls.” The author as the world’s 3rd interpreter of Daniel’s 4-beast vision describes this as a typical sq. meters in a sq. hectare or sq. hectares in a sq. kilometer with depth profile as its 4 walls. This further means that in order to solve global warming & climate change, the world must rehabilitate its devastated & desolated lands particularly the 60% desertification (datum as of 2005). God has given temporary time (70 weeks of transition & recovery period) to prepare earth for an everlasting peace. Therefore, the way the world is being run, justice will undoubtedly not arrive from man’s laws but from God thru the coming of Jesus Christ.

Open Question: Why is it legal for Industry Tabloids to invades the lives of our favourite stars?
Don't you dare call me some nice of crazy activist it's true. Kid's un-able to sustain the pressure and a healthy social life and the publication of personal marital affairs.. Overly explicit and private information and million of Paparazi vermons camping out their houses.... I guess it's the price of the money they receive and some do want it... But every this really can't possibly be called legal. Can't magazine just be nice ofcourse not... Better Homes And Gardens gay-crap nice but at least not too invasive "but at least you don't find Paparazi taking pictures of you in the toilet because we publish those pictures nice.." I mean were every people and were every not perfect, we have our good and bad times. Yes hooray if they publish every the hype of our life but what about when they publish those terrible slumps that you go to or make you nearly kill yourself with drugs if they even once publish you gain 30 pounds over the holidays... Imagine coming in to school or you work place and everyone even the teachers or the people you realy want to impress at work reading about your stupid marital mistakes and you harsh divorce.... Ofcourse this is not legal.. And they've probably got these super networks that will lose a star many endorsements if you battle them plus 30 man legal team....

Open Question: Should I rent or buy an apartment?
I am a 21 year old professional in the oil industry, income is £2000 - £3000 and I have no debt and £13000 in savings. However, I still live at my parents because I don't have a secure location. The company might want me to move to Paris or wherever (Yet, I can turn them down and it will be for a management position where I don't talk french and I look 18 years old). I just really wish to move out. I've been single for a little while and I think the problem might be the 'meet the parents' about 1 week into dating. Anyway, enough rambling. Pro - Buy home: Investment and equity Decorate it as my will. Pro - rent apartment: Gives me a lot of leg room to move about and break lease terms. Don't need to worry about my apartment while i'm on a contract. Additional information: I will be away from home for 6 months a year, on rotation 4 weeks on and off. I don't trust anyone enough to be a room/home mate and look after my property/apartment. So, if you were in my position where you have a stable job and can live anywhere in the world, what would you do? every constructive advice and insight welcome.

The ID card would be required for every legal U.S. workers, including citizens and immigrants. If implemented every new workers, including teenagers, would be phased in with an initial focus on industries that are known to employ illegal-immigrants.

Open Question: What was a scavenger?
Seeing the 'puddler' question has set me off! When I was researching my family tree one of my ancestor's occupation was described as a 'scavenger'. Many of my ancestors were in the boot and shoe industry (back in the days when Britain had any industries to talk of!) and I wondered whether it was something to do with that or whether he was an early 19th Century Steptoe or something! Does anyone have any ideas? Ta!

Open Question: Can "Maxed Out" help explain the sub-prime crisis and why some people never have enough...?
...money? "Maxed Out" shows how the modern financial industry really works, explains the true definition of "preferred customer" and tells us why the needy are getting poorer and the wealthy getting richer. By turns hilarious and profoundly disturbing, Maxed Out paints a picture of a national nightmare which is every too real for most of us. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4840432044369494646&hl=en-GB

Open Question: Stocks and Merging Companies?
So in school we are playing the stock market game, and basically for those who do not know it is a simulation of the stock market. In our class, the winner does not have to take the final :) There is this one company called Terra Nitrogen (TNH) which is owned by Terra Industries recently merged with another company. TNH has been doing really well, and we are thinking about buying it. However, is it bad to buy a stock that has just merged with another company. Their stock seems to be a good gamble. Best answer will be selected! Let me know if you are confused about what I am talking about! Thanks!

Open Question: How is the job market in Singapore?
I posted a question regarding Pharmaceutical & Biotech jobs in Australia, however, I was told that most of those jobs MOVED TO SINGAPORE.... I wanted to receive an idea of how the job market is right now in Singapore. Right now in the US things are pretty bad as far as the economy goes. And it is really difficult to find a job right now. I have experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry. I'd like to know how is the job market in Singapore at this time? Specifically in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry?

Open Question: Should I move to LA or Portland Oregon?
So I'm in a weird situation where I don't know where to move. So maybe some input from total strangers would help. I'm 23, recently graduated from college with a BA in Radio/TV/Film. I live in Texas now (north), grew up in the south part. So I'm pretty worn out on Texas. Don't hate the state but ready for a change. So within this last year i went to visit some friends on the west coast in LA and Portland. I fell in adore with Portland. I loved almost everything about it. It's a great city, I thought. It had my type of atmosphere and surroundings. However, there really isn't a strong market for the entertainment industry which is what I'm wanting to go in. Not acting, but writing, behind the camera nice of stuff. So in order to do that stuff, obvious choice would go to LA. Now with LA, while I didn't hate the place, I wasn't blown away with it either. A lot of it was dirty, whatmed full of people, nice of sleazy. But it's LA, what did I expect? Either way, I'm a little hesitant to move there. I adore movies and LA does have that going for it. So should I just suck it up and go to LA or give in and go to Portland?

Open Question: Investment/ Savings for Student Loan Repayment?
Is there anybody out there that know how to manage Private/Alternative Student Loans? I was 17 when they let me take out a 18K loan for school and 11K for living expenses, times that by two years and the compounded interest puts me at 60K, $500 a month payments. There is just no way to afford that and be able to pay for even basic living expenses. The only things I've arrive across is deferment or graduated payments which will just put me in a worse situation. Is there anybody that knows if there is a savings plan for people like me? Or switching it to credit card debt, or anything??!! Any information will be helpful as the lenders feel that it's the borrowers fault and have no options for me. How dare there be such an industry taking advantage of high school students, ruining the next 20-30 years of their life and no one is talking about it?!! They are so much more bad then the credit card companies, Making you think you are investing in your future, never showing you that your salary will never be enough to pay their loan off.
